If you are bringing in a device to us (or shipping it in to our local POSTNET branch / via courier), then please note that an inspection fee is payable before a quote can be provided on a case by case basis. An admin form will be sent via e-mail for a client that is shipping a unit to us. T's and C's apply and can be found here

We are often asked - "Why do you insist on an inspection fee?"| The following video illustrates why this has become our standard business practice (courtesy of Megafix - not OUR video)

If a device has had a prior repair attempt (be it DIY or another repair shop) prior to booking it in with us - it would be in your (client) best interest to disclose this before we start our troubleshooting process. It is very disheartening when we get 'throw away' electronics on our bench because then all that can be done is for it to be sent to our e-waste recycler and for the client to rather purchase a new device

When diagnosing a unit for any complex issue, it will require a full strip down to go through a checklist of possible causes of it malfunctioning before we can know what the problem is and quote a client accordingly. No guess work here at Micro Fix!

We, in general, cannot give you an exact price when you call or e-mail to ask "The power button on my laptop isn't working. What would it cost to fix it?". A service provider can only determine the repair cost by bringing in or shipping in the device to our premises for a technician to have it on the bench and all the tests (or replacement parts to be sourced) to be completed before a quotation can be produced

Micro Fix is competent in replacing ports, connectors, console Blu-Ray lasers and many other issues are usually diagnosed here. We do our best to offer economical repair solutions (which on average, is a third of the cost of the equivalent new device at retail) whilst not compromising our standard of only using the highest quality replacement parts available for every device type we work on. You bring it! We fix it!

what we do not accept for service

  • Appliances - we do not diagnose or repair fridges, freezers, stoves, microwaves, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, etc
  • Home entertainment products - we do not diagnose or repair televisions, sound bars, home theatre amplifiers, speakers, etc
  • Security products - we do not diagnose or repair gate motors, alarms, intercoms or their related electronics (i.e. circuit boards)
  • Leisure products - we do not diagnose or repair pool pumps, jacuzzi pumps, etc - or their related electronics (i.e. circuit boards)
  • Auto electrical - we do not diagnose or repair wiring harnesses, instrument clusters, ECU's, motorbike or car lights, etc
  • Vehicle keys - we do not diagnose or repair any make or model key FOB or their related electronics (i.e. circuit boards)
  • Industrial electronics - we do not diagnose or repair AC drive, PLC, Servo motors or drives, control units, 3D printers, etc
  • Food industry machines - we do not diagnose or repair fryer's, ice crushers, ice-cream makers, coffee grinders, etc
  • Desktop PC - we do not diagnose or repair any make or model desktop or their related accessories (e.g. mouse, PSU)
  • Car audio - we do not diagnose or repair stereo or mono-block amplifiers or wiring for audio equipment of this nature
  • Solar power equipment - we do not diagnose or repair any make or model solar system inverter or gel/lithium battery modules
  • Controllers - we do not diagnose or repair controllers for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or any 3rd-party compatible ones
  • Heavily corroded devices - electronics subjected to sea water, plumbing flux or any other bad corrosion making a repair not viable 
  • Infested devices - we do not handle any make or model electronic device that has insect, human excrement or any other infestation 
  • Loose PCB's - we do not diagnose or repair all standalone printed circuit boards - email us to find out if your specific PCB is serviceable
  • Rush service - we do not offer any 'while-you-wait repair service' for any device & respectfully decline "can you solder this for me quickly?" requests
